What we collect

LangPop is a public data site about programming language popularity. We collect as little personal information as possible.

  • Email address — only if you subscribe to our newsletter. Stored in our database for the purpose of sending you weekly rankings emails.
  • Anonymous analytics — page views, country, browser type. We use these to understand which content is useful. No personal identifiers.
  • No tracking pixels, no third-party ads (today). If we ever add display advertising or affiliate links, this page will be updated and the change disclosed.

How we use it

  • Email addresses are used only to send the weekly LangPop newsletter. We do not sell, rent, or share your email with anyone.
  • Analytics data is aggregated. We look at “how many people visited the rankings page this week,” not at individual visitor behaviour.

Unsubscribing and data deletion

Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. If you want your email removed from our database entirely, email hello@langpop.com and we will delete your record within 7 days.

Where data is stored

Subscriber data is stored in Supabase (EU-hosted Postgres). Analytics data is processed by Vercel Analytics. The site is hosted on Vercel. All data in transit is encrypted with TLS.

Cookies

We use one cookie: theme — a small string (“light” or “dark”) stored in your browser to remember your colour preference. It is never sent to our servers.
